WHERE THEY MET
It all started with a chance encounter at their favorite sushi restaurant in San Francisco. Sarah was living in the city and working at a tech startup, called Yammer, where she built a close network of friends.
In July 2011, she went to a colleague's birthday dinner at the Sushi Bistro. That same evening, Nick was meeting friends in town for a dinner at the same restaurant. Unbeknownst to Nick, both dinners were hosted by friends that graduated from his same high school in Villa Park, Southern California.
Nick arrived early for his dinner and proceeded to the back room of the restaurant believing this was where his group was sitting, as he recognized many faces from the table. Nick took a seat right next to Sarah and struck a conversation and they clicked instantly. Then Nick realized he sat at the wrong table – he should have been at the party in the front of the restaurant!
Sarah and Nick made a connection that night. They also realized, by chance, they were going to be in New York City the following week. That next week, Sarah was heading back from the Hamptons on a late Sunday afternoon, and received a message from Nick asking to have a drink. Sarah brought along her sister, Miryam, and her sister's dog, Mochi, and they hit it of yet again.
They reconnected in San Francisco shortly upon return, and the rest is a happy history filled with many adventures.
